The New Album ‘Gnosis’ Released!

The 13th of March is a memorable day for Saille, since ‘Gnosis’ was released on March 13. The wait is over and the level of excitement is high!

This fourth full-length album is released via Code666 again. The cd was mixed and mastered at Hertz Studio in Bialystok, Poland by the Wieslawscy brothers (Behemoth, Decapitated, Vader). The Belgian artist Jean-Philippe Sonnet of Threadbare Artwork was commissioned for the complete design and artwork. It appeared as a digipak edition, as well as digitally.

The complete track listing:

1 Benei ha’Elohim
2 Pandaemonium Gathers
3 Blôt
4 Genesis 11:1-9
5 Before the Crawling Chaos
6 Prometheus
7 Thou, My Maker
8 Magnum Opus
9 1904 Era Vulgaris

“Benei ha’Elohim” (based on the Book of Enoch – Man mixes with fallen angels, who gift them with knowledge and children), “Pandaemonium Gathers” (inspired by Paradise Lost (Milton) – Satan convinces his fallen comrades to take revenge for being expelled out of heaven), and “1904 Era Vulgaris” (after The Book of the Law (Crowley) – A brief description of some of the basic concepts of Crowley’s Thelema).
Comments SAILLE guitarist Reinier Schenk: “Our previous cd “Eldritch” was a good album, but we felt it had to be darker, we had to bring SAILLE to another level. The logo has been modified as a statement; the ‘curls’ were removed, both in style and music. The listener can expect a more defined SAILLE, with an own identity. The tracks are more compact and powerful, meanwhile referring to the feel of our 2nd cd “Ritu”, but more intense and extreme this time.

Drummer Kevin De Leener states: “The orchestral part will remain an important part of SAILLE, but there will be no keyboard player on stage anymore.” Concerning the recording of the drums for this album he says: “Well, it is definitely faster, which I think is awesome, and finally I am very satisfied with the natural sound of the drums on this record.”

‘Gnosis’ is a concept album again. Frontman Dennie Grondelaers explains about the writing process and lyrics: “With ‘Gnosis’ (Greek for ‘knowledge’) we venture into the world of the Promethean ideal and its Luciferian counterpart. This album explores a multitude of historical, mythological and fictional sources that tell us about the strife for knowledge and its (potentially devastating) consequences. We also visit several creation myths and scratch the surface of Aleister Crowley’s Thelema. The concept was born during research into Russian composer Alexander Scriabin and his works. His ‘Prometheus: The Poem of Fire’ didn’t serve as a direct source for the lyrics, but it lit the fire that made us venture into above topics.”

Lyric Video For ‘Benei ha’Elohim’

Check it out, another track off the forthcoming album ‘Gnosis’ in this lyric video.
Thanks to Decibel Magazine for releasing it.

“The Benei ha’Elohim (translated: “Sons of God”) were a group of beings that descended from the Heavens to mate with the Daughters of Men and thereby defying the will of God. They gifted mankind with great knowledge, including that of crafts and magic, but their deeds resulted in the birth of the Nephilim, destructive giants that wreaked havoc upon the earth.”

New Video Online: ‘Aklo’

Iä! Here’s our brand new video of ‘Aklo’. The first clip for our album ‘Eldritch’!

We couldn’t describe it better than video director Sam Velghe did: “The video is all about Saille performing, but in an entirely different way: Without a large stage and light show. This is pure, raw and dark; just like the song. Just like it should be.”

New Lyric Video ‘Eater Of Worlds’

With the release of our new album ‘Eldritch’ imminent, we have unleashed a brand new song and lyric video, ‘Eater Of Worlds’.

Watch ‘Eater Of Worlds‘ below

Based on the classic horror novel ‘It’, by American author Stephen King, ‘Eater Of Worlds’ is probably the most dynamic song on our forthcoming album. It’s also very diverse, but all the while flowing effortlessly through a myriad of textures.

This song has a mix of aggression, melancholy and epicness,” comments keyboardist Dries Gaerdelen. “Especially with the real recorded trumpets and strings. These really add to the quality of the song together with the rawest screams on any Saille album so far from Dennie Grondelaers. This one is a joy to play live and we’re eager to bring it to the stages.

Haunter Of The Dark Lyric Video

Two months before the release of ‘Ritu’, we’re proud to present the lyric-video of “Haunter of the Dark”

SAILLE frontman Dennie Grondelaers: “Haunter of the Dark is based on two Lovecraft-stories. The first one, ‘The Haunter of the Dark’, covers the largest part of the lyrics. The second, ‘The Case of Charles Dexter Ward’, is the story from which the unpronounceable intro and intermezzo originate. It’s about a man that, while exploring a long abandoned church, unknowingly summons an avatar of a malign god named Nyarlathotep. The following days describe his futile attempts to escape the horrible faith he called upon himself.”
